news image

Cincinnati Kiwanis and Wesley Chapel Mission Center once again "Team[ed] Up for Kids" at the Reds Opening Day Parade.  We had a great turnout of Cincinnati Kiwanians, University of Cincinnati Circle K members, Wesley Chapel Mission Center staff, and, of course, most importantly the kids we help serve from the Over the Rhine community. The kids had a blast and so did everyone else!

A huge thanks to Barbara Torlone and the rest of her committee who helped to plan this year's parade entry!  As well, thank you to Wesley Chapel Mission Center and University of Cincinnati Circle K for joining us!

The parade entry helps to create another opportunity for spending time with...

“We extend our continued and sincere thanks to every Kiwanis International member, whose work and determination is bringing us closer to the day when ZERO mothers and babies die from tetanus,” says Caryl M. Cincinnati Kiwanis celebrate Derby Days, Trotting in the dollars for the EliMiNaTe project - 05/20/2013
news image
Horse races, hat contest, "heads or tails", silent auction, live music, wine and a fabulous buffet dinner combined for a wildly successful EliMiNaTe Fundraiser at the Art of Entertaining in Cincinnati, Ohio, raising $1200+.  35 guests bid on auction items, bet their chocolate coins "heads" or "tails" on the roll of the die, they rallied for their horse at the horse table (aka. a tablecloth boardgame with horse game pieces), and competed for the best hat.

Great fun for everyone involved plus saving hundreds of lives - not a bad way to spend an evening!

Kiwanis and Opening Day Parade - 03/31/2013
news image
Everything came together perfectly for the parade today. The weather was beautiful and everyone had a great time.

Thanks to all who participated!

•Sarah and James brought a big truck, decorated it and drove it expertly through the streets of Cincinnati.
•Jim and Allyson brought their children and enjoyed a fun family day.
•Tracey and Lee carried the Kiwanis Banner and proudly led the way.
•Amy and Barbara took photos and engaged the crowds with High 5's and cheers.

But the STARS of the show were the children from the Wesley Chapel Mission Center Builder's Club and the WCMC Staff Members who joined them. They wore crazy red wigs, cheered and rang cow bells the entire time. They had a ball!

Alternative Valentines: Show your love - 02/08/2013
In many countries, February is a time when youngsters create construction paper Valentines with gallons of glue and glitter, lace, ribbon—and love. Then on February 14th, they lovingly present these works of art to their sweethearts—their mothers. There’s a special bond between a child and a mother, a bond we work to protect from harm through The Eliminate Project.

Celebrate this Valentine’s Day in a special way, honoring those you love with a gift to The Eliminate Project.

“For less than the cost of a greeting card and far less than the cost of a box of chocolate, we can show our love for human life. Just $1.80 will protect a woman and her future babies from the painful and deadly effects of...
